Just trying to see has anyone had any experience with these. I've just bought 2 and there taking about 90 minutes to charge which is twice the quoted time, anyone else have this issue.
    Thanks

    What charger are you using?

Tried a couple of different DC18RC chargers seem to be all the same.

I was asking just in case you were using a charger that wasn't up to the job?

Are you charging from cold or are you putting "warm" recently used discharged batteries? I suspect warm batteries may take a bit longer to charge while the fan cools them down but 90 minutes is too long in a charger thats supposed to do the job in 45 minutes.

Charging time wouldn't bother me. An extra 20 minutes wouldn't kill me. I'd be more interested in the battery life

    I originally thought that myself.
Each time it's been from cold so should be as fast as it can go.
The supplier has told me to try a few charges to see if they settle, won't hold my breath though.

20 minuets would be almost forgiven but a quoted charging time of 45 minutes taking 90 is way off the mark.

So you've used other chargers and it's the same? I'd send them off so. They should be replaced if they are just bought. Should be a years shop warranty on batteries like dewalt?

I will try a couple of more charges and if no change I'll do that.
I was just trying to see if anyone had real world experience of charging these batteries

We have 4 Makita 5ah batteries but they're only about 4 weeks old and haven't been put through their paces yet, they're only used in screwguns atm. It will be interesting to see if ours are the same, I hope that's not the norm for them!

Just in case anyone wanted to see how it went for me, after about 5 charges they sped up to the time Makita stated.

The fan in the charger didn't run really for the first few charges so I assume its to not be too severe on them at first.
