    Hi there,

I hope this is in the right section,

I'll be moving to Canada in July of this year and I'm looking into my Tax Claim in Ireland for 2018 as I won't be in the state for the following tax year.

From reading up online I see you need to submit your P45, A Form 12 and a P50 form along with a written statement stated you won't be in the state for the tax year 2019 etc.

I'm just wondering how to works with a tax refund. Roughly my salary to July in Ireland in 2018 would be €16k, with the usual tax credits of €3,300.

If 16k was my salary for the entire year from using online calculators I wouldn't be paying any income tax or PRSI, just USC.

Given the above, Should I expect to get a refund of my full income tax and PRSI paid up untill July? Or is there a different way to work this out in unaware of?

Any help greatly appreciated, I'm looking to gather as much info as possible before submitting the application.

    Cheers,

It will be a refund of tax not PRSI. Based on your information above you would be entitled to claim split year treatment and should receive a refund of PAYE and USC once is recalculated to show €16k taxable income for the tax year 2018.
