    Hi there!
I was wondering if anyone has experience with a senior infants/ first class split? I’ll be getting this class next year and I’m very confused about how to do my notes!! I’m being told that I have to do aistear with infants but that first don’t do it! I can’t understand the planning of it at all!! Plus the amount of people needed for aistear won’t be available to me! Just one person!

This is a nice split as you will have 2-3 just with first to get some solid work done. Plan everything apart from maths Irish English as one group and use the first as mentors at the aistear tables. They have an extra hour at end of day with you anyway and it will help your weaker 1st class pupils anyway with revision etc. Keep maths Irish English themes the same so a lot of intro of lesson will be same for both classes and then differentiate after that. Best of luck.
