Career Break Scheme - Career Change

    Hi I am a primary teacher considering the possibility of taking a career break next year. My undergraduate degree is in a completely different area (not education-related). I never got the chance to work in that area so I would love to try it while I'm still relatively young! On the INTO website it says;

    While not an exhaustive list, the career break scheme was designed to facilitate teachers with:
    - Personal development
    - Voluntary service overseas
    - Accompanying a spouse/partner on diplomatic/military posting
    - Education
    - Public representation
    - Caring for children/dependents
    - Self-employment

    Doesn't appear to cover a 'temporary' career change!...anyone know if I would be allowed take one to work in a different area for a few years?:confused:
