Used to work here with a very great bunch of friends, till life took me away from Ireland.
Just by sheer miracle, have found a few diaries I used to keep, .pre-mobile phones, pre-computer age.
Any shred of info imparted here, would be most appreciated, as to what happened to them. Best pal there was a Joe Murphy from Railway Avenue, inchicore, and a few others. Lost contact with all. Would love to, by a sheer miracle, hope to glean something, no matter how small. Thanks.

Closed in the mid-80s, from memory, during a torrid time for the motor trade in Ireland. The Renault franchise, which Smiths held at the time, was transferred to someone else, but they didn't take on the assets, properties, workforce, etc, so the premises were sold and the workforce were made redundant.

What a fantastic reply. Thank you so much. I have been searching here, there, everywhere, posting messages, all drawing a complete blank, and was almost ready to give up. Even trying an Inchicore forum led to zilch. And the present Renault franchise were useless as no one from there even bothered to respond.
Now, thanks to you, light has been shed. Pity I cannot find information on my wonderful Irish friends who worked there.
