Dual Sim Phones

Hey all,
Been kicking around the idea of a dual sim phone for a while. I'm self employed and keep a separate phone. It can be a real pain carrying two phones all the time, although there is a benefit of being able to leave work phone at home at times.

I've been looking at HTC U11. Are there two phone profiles on a dual sim? I've never seen one in operation. Is there a danger of mixing up personal and work calls/ messages etc?

You can turn off the second sim at will so shutting down for the weekend is still possible. Some phones even have time of day rules (eg SIM2 On 8-6.30 weekdays).

Different manufacturers handle it differently. Mine for example for text messages has default SIM1, default SIM2, Always Ask which sim.

I got the OPO3T a couple of years ago and Have been using it dual sim for personal and work phone. Would never go back to single sim now, great not carrying Two phones.

I just have data set for my personal sim and use data for both personal and work as I've no issue with usage.

I use handcent/next sms for text and you get two send buttons on screen one is marked with a 1 and the other with a 2 representing sim 1 and sim 2. Write a message as normal and just click the button corresponding to the sim you wish to send it from. Couldn't be easier. Was nervous at first that I'd hit the wrong button but have actually done that twice in two years.

Phone calls are grand, but I can't assign certain number to a particular sim for default calls so just have to 0r3ss the correct call button when ringing a contact (e.g. 1 or 2)

Only major downside is not having WhatsApp. I believe there is some work around for having two WhatsApp accounts on the same device but I remember looking into it and it didn't seem to be worth the grief. Can't remember the process now.
