If you're flying standard coach (World Traveller), there's no power ports in that section on those planes. World Traveller Plus (the premium economy section), business, and first class have power ports, though; if you really need one, you'd have to upgrade.

A portable power bank would work out cheaper than getting a seat upgrade, a 10,000mAh bank should be able to fully charge most devices at least twice.

Speaking of BA I’m flying with them tomorrow for the first time in a couple of years. Traveling alone, didn’t pre pay a seat and assumed could select one that was available check in opened, same as Aer Lingus.

But no, the only option to select a seat on checkin is to pay a minimum of €13 which I did as I was allocated a middle seat in the second last row.

Basically it’s the Ryanair policy with a higher seat selection charge. It is what it is, but a little surprised BA had gone that far down the LCC route.

You will find that they are all gone down tbe ryanair routh, when it comes to extra revenue the customer will always come second. Dont be surprised about this

Ask for a different seat at the desk in the airport.

It's a 7.30am flight so I'd rather just be checked in at home and turn up at the airport an hour before the flight for the sake of EUR13.
