    Hiya all.
Got a bit of a a pain in the ass. The ignition key barrel on my 99 BMW is loose and sometimes it comes out when I pull the key out.

Anybody know how to secure it properly?

    Thanks

What model? Have a look on a parts fiche and see how it's assembled. e.g. realoem.com
If you mean the complete switch then the screw(s) securing it have probably fallen out.
If it really is just the barrel maybe a retaining tab is failing to engage with the switch body. Take out the barrel and see if a tab is missing or stuck
