Stain removal/teeth discoloration

    Hi All,

I am very self conscious about my teeth. they are overcrowded/crooked and discoloured.
I had laser whitening today and I can see a difference in some teeth but I have two problem areas. One is a deep stain probbaly from drinking tea. I also have one tooth that is damaged and the nerve is dead so whitening it from the outside makes no difference. I think it can be whitened from the inside. I've tried googling things but it's quite confusing. Any idea how I could improve the colour of my teeth. I wouldn't mind the crookedness if they were whiter. I had an orthodontic consultation and between cost/time I was deterred to follow up.

    Any advice gratefully received.
    Thanks,
    Kaz

    1. Was the whitening done by a dentist?
    2. Did you have your teeth cleaned before the whitening was done?

Yes it was done by a dentist but my last cleaning was Christmas

Was this done in one of the "whitening shops"? E.g. The White House/The whitening clinic etc?

    Doubtful.

"Dental Professionals" is not the same as dentist. A dentist would have advised you to have the staining removed from your teeth first, a dentist also would have told you that whitening your teeth makes dead teeth look worse as they do not whiten like live teeth.

If you want to check, phone up the Clinic and ask for the dentist's name and if they are on the Dental Council Register.

One off "Laser" Whitening is nearly totally useless for most people. Also a dead tooth will need special attention. Go see you local dentist in a proper dental clinic and see what can be done.
