    Hi I sold my car and guy has come back saying he can't get insurance because they told him car was a write off in England i was aware the car was crashed but never had a problemwith insurance . am looking for advice on what to do with the car. Should I just sell it to a scrap dealer. It's 13 years old

    Private sale presumably? If so, the time for the buyer to do their checks was before purchase, so as stated already, the car is the property of the buyer. Let them bring it to the scrapyard or otherwise resolve it.

    As said, buyer bought the car as it is. They had ample time before to do checks etc.
    Once book is signed and money handed over the car is no longer your responsibility.
