Huawei router woes e5186

Have been using a three sim in a huawei router as my home internet faultlessly since mid summer 2017 (e5186)

The other day we had a power outage and since then the router won’t work wirelessly, the iPhone doesn’t even see the router and I’ve tried the laptop and got that to see it wirelessly but won’t connect

I’ve tried all things from changing security settings to internet settings etc and resetting to factory default settings but nothing

I can run an Ethernet cable to the laptop and connect no problem

Has anybody any suggestions to what to try? Only thing I’ve not done is removed the SIM card and tried it in a phone

Could the WiFi card/controller in the router gone bust as we did have a weird scenario with lights coming on dim etc and wondering could it have been damaged by a sudden surge

    Thanks for reading

Sounds like a brown out. Potentially damaged it.

You could manually flash a good firmware image to be sure the boot image isnt corrupt but dont hold your breath. If its bust you can use the E5186 as your router and some other unit as an access point for wifi purposes.

yeah i have a few wireless routers I can do that with but don't want to be looking at two horrible internet points

very odd that I turned on the smart tv yesterday and it recognised the e5186 wirelessly but couldnt access it either....
