    This coming weekend, The Battle of Ashbourne Commemoration Committee will be presenting a day of re enactments, with 2 battles being put on, a 1798 battle, and a 1919 battle, and there will be a series of displays of living history.

    The venue is Swans Pub Curragha, Near Ashbourne, starting at around 11.30 am.The Main battle re enactments will be at 13:30 and 15:30

    A number of re enactment groups from all over Ireland are attending to participate, and a number of other groups will display, including the Irish Military vehicle group, the United Nations Veterans group, and Viking and Roman reenactment groups, who will also stage mini battles.

    Everyone is welcome and there is no admission charge for any of the events.
