Is The Leaving Cert Taken Into Account?

Hi all So I hope to go to uni next year with my QQI qualification. I have my leaving cert and PLC on the CAO. The problem is that the university requires me to have a pass in ordinary Irish and I did foundation level. Do they take that into account or completely ignore the leaving cert so long as I qualify using my QQI…
