Replacing an oil boiler

We're hoping to replace our 20 year old fire bird oil boiler soon and I am hoping ye can to educate me on them before I ring the local plumbers.

Are ye happy with condensing oil boilers and is there any model you'd prefer to use yourselves?

We'd like to move the location of the boiler about 6metres. Can the oil pipe be ran overground? If so should it be ran in some ducting or steel pipe?

One other question I should have written in last night - is it essential to have the system flushed to get the warranty on these modern condensing boilers?

    From Grant Vortex instructions.

"To avoid the danger of dirt and foreign matter entering
the boiler the complete heating system should be
thoroughly flushed out - before the boiler is connected
and then again after the system has been heated and is
still hot. This is especially important where the boiler
is used on an old system.
For optimum performance after installation, this boiler and its
associated central heating system must be flushed in accordance
with the guidelines given in BS 7593:1992 'Treatment of water
in domestic hot water central heating systems'.
This must involve the use of a proprietary cleaner, such
as BetzDearborn's Sentinel X300 or X400, or Fernox
Restorer. Full instructions are supplied with the
products, but for immediate information, please
contact BetzDearborn on 0151 4209563 or Fernox on
    0179 9550811.
For Long term protection against corrosion and scale,
after flushing, it is recommended that an inhibitor such as
Betzdearborn's Sentinel X100 or Fernox MB-1 is dosed
in accordance with the guidelines given in BS 7593:1992.
Failure to implement the guidelines will invalidate the
    warranty."

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Thank you, that's one more to put into the list of Q's

Is there anything else that ye, coming from the plumbers side, prefer to talk about when you meet the householder. I have friends who are sparks and they HATE having the homeowner call back after the initial visit with more and more questions
