No brand engine would be a big worry.

We have 4 petrol washers at work, all Honda 13hp units, savage washers, very reliable. Lots of power and water flow, great for cleaning yards etc.

Personally I’d say petrol over leccky as trailing cables everywhere when working with water is never recommended.

Everyone has their own requirements, budget and views on this.

Electric are very quite but u need to have a plug nearby! Petrol are noisy, have fumes etc but no lead and easier move around.

You don't need massive psi if u have a turbo nozzle for concrete, standard nozzle for machinery. Worth investing in 2 lances. Buy long lances, save the back. Do cleaning when dirt is fresh and not caked on.

A good reel with at least 60ft of hyd hose is a God's send. A short hose is a nuisance as your always moving the machine which slows down the job. Hyd hose is tricky to manage without a reel but your budget may not stretch to one.

For machinery, you cant beat a washer with a burner (hot wash). Set around 50C and very little pressure will remove dirt and grease with ease. And you'll leave paint on machines.

Also try have your setup so that you have a small tank gravity feeding your washer. That way your pump is not trying to do 2 jobs (sucking from barrel and forcing water up a hose and out a nozzle).

No matter what washer u get, dont forget to drain the pump when leaving up for the winter.

I have one of these. Not top of the range by any means, but interpump make a decent pump and loncin are one of the better Chinese engine makers (eg BMW trust them enough to make their bikes)

What should be looked for in regards the following:
    1. Litres per minute
    2. Psi

What about a pto power washer? No petrol or diesel no moter to go wrong. Put on 1000rpm ticking over. Plenty of power for sheds and put on a wide spray nozzle for Machenery.

We have a Hawk pto washer that is used two or three times a week especially in Spring when we are busy with calves for cleaning the lorries/trailers and jeep trailers.
We run it on a IH454 (which has dual pto) at 1000 rpm. We change the nozzles to suit what we want to use it for be it cleaning the cattle sheds, yards or power hosing the house.
