Hi all - has anybody ever gotten a quote from both? Can you remember who was cheapest?

I don't think you will be comparing like with like. Not saying that there's anything wrong with the quality of IKEA kitchen but cash & carry are a higher quality

I've had both in different houses. IKEA was cheaper but we fitted it ourselves.
Cash and carry had an excellent fitter who was reasonable for a much more professional finish and all in price was good as we went for one of their styles that was ending and a cheap mdf worktop.
I had a bit of an issue with the guy in the show room who wouldn't entertain my trivial requirements and more preferred dealing with my husband who obviously knew what he wanted, but other than that, it was a good buy.

The thing to understand here is they are not like for like. IKEA stuff is off standard so if you want to change doors etc later you can only buy IKEA. The units go back to the wall and are only 100mm off the floor.most other units are about 50mm off the wall and 150mm off the floor.this can make a big difference for services etc.also if your dishwasher is integrated you will have to buy a special kit to open the door providing your dishwasher is compatible.

Appreciate your reply however, at this juncture I am just enquiring solely re costs to see if there is a large difference in quotes.

We went ikea, found others to be double the cost, including C&C. We did fit ourselves so obviously was a saving there. What really made up our minds however was the design, no-one else could really match the Ikea design for what we wanted.

My daughter has IKEA kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, also sitting room, it is very nice, but I am looking at a cash and carry Kitchen for myself, as their stores are closer by

There's nothing wrong with the IKEA kitchens but c&c kitchens are a bit much higher quality. You will pay more for the c&c

We installed a new kitchen last Summer and priced both. Ikea were approx. half the price of Cash and Carry for what we wanted.

It was a large kitchen with a custom sized island worktop and worked out great. There is nothing wrong with the standard of Ikea units, but as someone pointed out above there sizes are not standard.

EDIT: in case it's not clear, we went for Ikea!

Mine is a smallish replacement kitchen, I have got the new appliances, decided to replace lot since most of my kitchen and appliances are 20= yrs old, and with this eco and AA ratings on things now, I think it is right time for me to do it, and the fact that it is looking like myself after the wear and tear of family , Tired

We used Ikea stuff in our utility room and the quality is fine. Fitting is fairly straight-forward too. TBH: the hardest part was getting the rail for the wall cabinets straight and level due to our walls being ancient and there barely being a true angle or level in the house!

I got a C&C kitchen and the quality is not great. Plus they never finished the job and didn't stick to the original plan. Very bad company to deal with and the customer service is worse than the quality. Best avoid and look somewhere else.

Over 4 years later, I'd hope they're sorted at this stage!
