Dropped our car in to be looked at last week after the clutch failed to rise up when pushed down. Initially was told by the garage that it was most likely an issue with a connector and that it would be a few days to be fixed. Today, a week later they've contacted to say that the clutch is worn completely and needs to be replaced at a cost of 1460 euro.

The mechanic was speaking with my wife and kept saying "the clutch is worn and to speak to your husband". It's her car and they know it but I get the impression that they are pulling a fast one with the price and hoping that she will just say go ahead with the work. Does anyone have any recent experience with a Mondeo and pricing?

4 part clutch and flywheel kit about €1000. Does the €1460 price include the clutch master cylinder?

I'll find out, it's my wife's car so she has been dealing with them. It went from a cost of just over 600 euro last week to the new number and concerns today.

I’d imagine that is quite a good price tho because there not the most straightforward of clutches to do. And while ur doing the clutch as George says you do the whole lot in one go. Flywheel clutch pressure plate and slave cylinder. So all it ya it’s not a bad price
