Running in a local election - How to?

    Howdy folks,

This might sound mad, but at about a year away from the local elections, I reckon I'd be interested in running.

After having a few years of dealing with Councillors in the area and feeling less than pleased, I reckon I'd do a better job.

I'd have no interest in many national issues, but local ones would cause me sleepless nights.

What I'm wondering is, how would you go about doing this? I'm not a political person locally, would be pretty much unknown in general and wouldn't have cause to have my face in the paper often, so pretty much no one knows me. My social circle is pretty small, too, so that wouldn't help.

If I was to give this a genuine shot, could anyone advise on what I should look to be doing at the moment?

    Cheers folks.

    Vote KKV :D

You should be highly active, and visibly so, in community organisations. You should be seeking to get your name in the local papers. And you should be starting well before now.
