My brother is an alcoholic, he had been in treatment since last september and came home last weekend, he got himself a job and everything seemed ok until today, I had my suspicions he was drinking and while he went out for a fag, I went down to his room and found a coke bottle with vodka in it :( I don't know what to do, the last time I confronted him about he tried to attack me and the following week he went into treatment, my parents will be heart broken, should I tell them? please any advice appreciated, we can't go back to how things were :(.

I think you have to tell them, but what are the repercussions?

Have your parents made it clear that he cannot drink if he wants to live in their home? What then?

Or will they just be upset but not do anything?

Get rid of it for a start and yes, your parents need to know if they are supporting him. What age is he? Are your parents willing/able to put up with him now after him getting treatment and it obviously not working?
