Not buying or selling, but which car to hire??

    I've in LA this summer for a week with work and I've decided to take a road trip, probably to Vegas. 300 odd miles.

    Which car should I hire to enjoy the experience? Looking at American muscle cars for the trip, something I don't get to drive here at all. So what would you guys recommend?

    It's only going to be a day or 2 and I've a decent budget for it so we will assume everything out there is available.

    Thinking mustang at the moment but I don't know a huge amount about American cars.
