Work in creche, which is more important hiring staff - qualifications or experience?

When employing new staff in crèches, what do management focus on when choosing the right candidate - their qualifications or experience?

Are Level 7 and Level 8 qualifications valued much when it comes to looking for a job?

It seems that what is really going on is that recruiters see that a Level 8 may want a higher wage (although it may not always be the case) - a wage that they are not prepared to pay - therefore they don't hire them, in some cases, therefore the better option is to hire a basic Level 5 who will settle for the minimum wage, who may have a few years 'experience' .

    What are your thoughts?

With the higher capitation for level7/8 you will see jobs requiring that level. However, an experienced childcare worker is worth their weight in gold. ( although they might not want to pay them well for that experience :() most childcare services do want to see their employees interested in continuously improving themselves so you should be seen to want to progress with courses and training that's on offer.
