So i have been dieting for the last few months to feel better overall and look a bit better. But im going to the cinema and i usually enjoy a nice cold beverage with some popcorn. I drink water everyday. The only other drink would be almond milk. So would one medium coke zero really affect me or should i just avoid it? I dont want to feel ****ty tomorrow over it..

    Is it truly 0 calories?
They must have added a substitute for sugar. I can't imagine it being a clean drink. And I'm more worried about feeling bloated or something along those lines.

They genuinely don't have any calories.

However there is a bunch of conflicting information out there on how healthy they are. Some sources say they are totally fine, others say they have various negative impacts on health.

My opinion is they are fine to reach for every now and again, especially if it means not reaching for a full sugar drink. But I wouldn't be drinking them all the time.

I'd say the popcorn would be more threatening to the diet would it?

There is a suggestion that the aspartame can spike insulin and increase cravings for sugar. Don't hold me to that as I am no expert but maybe something worth checking.

As for calories it should be OK in moderation.

Thankfully I've never had a sweet tooth so when I was diagnosed with type II diabetes giving up sugars wasn't a problem for me.

Post diagnoses you're sent to a nutritionist (among other specialists for health related checks).

I was told that all these diet, no cal soft drinks were fine to drink.

I test my blood sugars daily, before and after food and have never found diet drinks (including Coke Zero) to be an issue.

I've only had it that one time. I'm not a huge fan of drinking a lot of water at once and i do feel like what you drink and eat in the cinema can really add to the experience of watching that film. Back on my normal routine now. Thanks a bunch!
