Sciatica and arthritis

I have had sciatica for over 10 years along with wear and tear in my knees which GPs in the past have said is likely arthritis but none have sent for any kind of blood tests or other tests.

I have always used anti-inflammatory meds to help with the pain for both but they barely take the edge off these days. I was using a chiropractor for a while which was helping a bit but it became too expensive for me to continue.

I have been reading about different options like using a physio or possibly getting a cortisone injection. Has anyone who has the same issues got any benefit from either or can advise which is the best option? I am short of cash, so I want to use my money wisely, I presume a physio would mean going regularly which could end being expensive so was thinking a cortisone injection might be better if it lasts long enough.

BTW, the pain is so bad most days, that I am pain just getting out of bed or getting up from my seat.

    Cheers for any advice.
