Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, to my shock I received a fine in the post this morning from a County council, informing me that I have been illegally dumping rubbish (plastic bags)

I can understand way they may think it is me, as I drop my son off for school daily at the same location where the dumping offense scene mentioned in the letter

So basically I have been accused without nay evidence

I have been in touch with them, but they are standing their ground. Any recommendations on what to do?

    Thanks

    This seems odd.

Just because you drop your son off at the spot where the dumping occurs, I don't think they could trace it back to you, let alone accuse you.

Are you sure that some rubbish containing your details was somehow dumped at the location?

Hi. No, extremely unlikely. I'd hate to think the colour of my skin has anything to do with this (I'm not white/native)

Believe it or not, us "natives" aren't allowed dump our rubbish by the side of the road either. Shocking I know.

I suggest you ask the council what evidence they have that it is your waste. Also race/colour is irrelevant to this type of behaviour.

They only issue the fine if they have some way of tracing litter directly to you - something with a name & address or an eyewitness report.
As said above, ask for evidence.
