Not Outdoor Pursuits related, but I use a product from Autoglym for our Mazda MX-5 convertible roof.

    https://www.autoglym.com/convertible-soft-top-clean-protect-complete-kit

There's a cleaner and a waterproofer in there, but if it's a new roof you won't need the cleaner this time, but it's a good idea to clean and reproof every year.

Should be able to get it from some motor factors or Halfords, but can be got online as well.

You may also get some answers over in the Detailing sub forum of the Motors forum. There may be other products that are cheaper and are better than Autoglym.

Top tip: it's a spray, and you definitely don't want to get it on your paintwork or windows, so protect all surfaces you don't want it on when applying!

I used Fabsil from Halfords to waterproof a canvas tarp and all seems fine.
