Lager of the West apparently... Inspired by it.

And brewed in St James' Gate...

    ...

Next time I'm down in Dublin 8 I'll have to keep my eye open for all those crashing waves.

Does it require a special way of pouring it so Arthur's pixie dust can work its magic?

I thought the same thing a few nights ago, when I saw the advert. And trying to come across like it is a craft beer when it's just more mass produced St. James' Gate brew.

And another variant on the same contrived theme

This coastal feel in an urban setting is going to work wonders for property prices out there in Dublin 8.

Wonder will it give a nasty hangover like Hop house does?

If ever there was a focus grouped alcohol product that's it

It will almost certainly be a massive let down.

Bit like that Hop House stuff.

Its basically Coors / Canadian Molson.

Id be hard pushed to split the 3 apart in a blind taste test.

Drinking any of those 2 aforementioned beers is akin to having sex in a kayak.

    Fcuking close to water.

Find Hop House nice enough but no time for Rockshore - it won't last. Nice glasses though. I got mine with a free sample. :D

What slot are the aiming at, not a pun.

What would someone have bought that'll buy this?

    What a silly name.

Aimed at coors drinkers. Rockshore. Taste of the Rockies etc

Young impressionable drinkers... Get them in early

Haven't seen the ad but presumably it's got a lad and girl with goggles and a tulip glass mooching around a brewing vat, then cutting to a pub scene with lots of bearded drinkers flamboyantly eschewing their Budweisers before ending with a vague byline about hops and breaking with convention.

Tried it last week. Didn't realise it was a "light" beer

    Bland and tasteless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Had a pint of it last week because it was new. Tasted for all the world like Guinness trying to make a Budweiser clone - bland, watery and not something I'd want to drink again.

Had a taste of it recently. Weakest beer I've ever tasted.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I have been tempted to try it but had the impression that it was probably a Budweisser or Corrs Light kind of beer which this thread has confirmed. Therefore I will be staying the fúck away from it. Can't stand weak pissy beer.

Hop house I have to say I find very enjoyable to drink.

Why didn't they call it Wild Atlantic Way?
    Has someone copyrighted out coastline?

It is terrible but not even the weakest mass market beer in recent times. That goes to Heineken Light.

They should create a new Irish Cider and call it 'Applause'

The tagline would read...'Get a Round of Applause'

    Terribly dated and unimaginative branding.

    It's Harp isn't?

Due to its complete lack of taste I reckon its aimed squarely at very young drinkers.

The dregs of the Harp production I'd imagine.

The ad is hilarious, whoever came up with it is a south dublin type who spends a weekend a year in achill or lahinch or somewhere and this ad is about one of those. Couldn’t be less west if it tried
