Cherrywood/Brides Glen

Hey guys,

Starting a new job initially will be based in Grand Canal Square but after 3 months will move out to Cherrywood.

I am Currently not driving due to no need for a car. I am based in Virginia so with regular bus services I can pretty get where I want to by public transport.

When the job moves though it will add another bit to my commute. With the taxsaver bus ticket will be paying around 200 quid monthly for the bus plus maybe 120 a month for Luas.

Driving will cost in and around 100 weekly for petrol and nearly a tenner a day for tolls.


The money is not the issue I am having though. Its the length of the commute. It could be a 7 hour commute with bus and Luas taken into account.

With Rush hour traffic in the mornings however facing the M50 8am, would I be saving time ? Driving I can get to the M3 service station in 40 minutes. It could be another 30 minutes to the turn off for the M50.


Does anybody here travel down the 50 at that time in the morning and want to give a estimated time it would take from the Cavan Exit to Cherrywood or anywhere nearby.

You'd be better off just renting somewhere in Dublin Sun-Fri.

You can ask if the company will provide a shuttle bus, I know some companies in Sandyford/Leopardstown industrial estate provide shuttle bus from city centre along the dart line.
