Ants

A couple of years ago we had a new conservatory built onto the back of the house. There have always been some ants in the area but we never had a problem in the house. Over last summer I noticed the odd ant in the conservatory but in August one day, saw to my horror a mass of ants streaming out of the skirting board next to the back of the house, inside the conservatory. We sprayed it liberally, but a couple of days later, on the other side of the house/conservatory patio door, it happened again, the very same think, coming out of the skirting board AND INSIDE THE MAIN HOUSE.
I have always had a bit of a thing about ants - poor things, but I am very squeamish about them.
Second time round I called a pest control company who came out and put bait boxes inside the skirting.
Then my husband tried to seal under all the skirting boards in the downstairs of the house - it sounds a bit extreme but I hate them.
We talked to the conservatory company - a very reputable respected company with a fantastic reputation - who said they have never heard of it happening before but the ants must have come in from the garden.
I never leave the garden door open because of my ant phobia!
Now, over the couple of warm days we have just had, I have noticed seven ants (over two days), always making their way across the conservatory towards the back door.
Can anyone advise? Is it just one of those things that happens? Why is it happening? We don't have food in the conservatory, and don't seem to have a problem inside the main house (yet)
I'm worried the join between the conservatory and the house is not intact and that that has let the insects come up from the ground and into the house.
Is there any positive outlook? I actually don't want to live in this - after 30 years!
    Thank you

I've also noticed a load of ants just in the last week, I keep the place very clean but they keep coming, I put down ant powder outside yesterday where they've been coming in and so far no more ants, it is just one of those things, my dads house always had serious ant problems. I don't think your conservatory isn't sealed up, your are worrying to the extreme, ants are tiny and will get in through whatever means they can.

Definitely nothing to do with the conservatory company.

I had them in my own house a few years ago. Two years in a row. We had ant powder everywhere.

had them last year and bought these: https://www.woodies.ie/home-defence-ant-stop-bait-station-315816?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwwbHWBRBWEiwAMIV7E_w91qF1iJZlyGDrdvxoevIrL7bSuDbI3k1wFs18UIR-_zGNzsVewRoCvP4QAvD_BwE

2 days later ants gone. Only used one of the bait stations. I noticed that I didn't see a single ant go into the bait box when I watched it for a while, but sure enough bye bye ants. Reviews on Amazon are in line with my experience.

get pavement chalk and draw a heavy line inside conservatory and also outside, wherever they are getting in

I remember a house I rented years ago had an ant problem. All the neighbours did too. They said it was the red brick the houses were built with. The only way we got rid if them was by covering exert thing with salt for a couple of days.
