Working flexi-time and as freelancer

    Hi,

I just got a job offer to work for a company as a freelancer. I'm employed at the moment and I'd like to keep my job, but this job offer is just asking me to work 15-20 hours a month as a freelancer for them.

At the moment my contract is flexi-time as well, as in I work only when I have a project, and when I'm at home I'm not getting paid.

I'm looking for help as I am not sure if I'd be able to do this.

    Thanks,
    Ivan

Freelancers are usually entitled to set their own hours.

It may depend on the industry.

What do you think the problem is? Potentially not enough hours in the day sometimes? Or legal issues? I cannot think of any of the latter, provided your day job doesn't have a clause which prohibits 2nd jobs, or one which says you cannot work for others in the industry etc, or that they own the copyright on things you do outside of work hours as well as inside.

Really people here cannot advise without seeing your contract.

I agree with Mrs O'B. but propose leaving this thread open for discussion subject to forum rule on legal advice
