It's not just in the kitchen.

Pic 5 shows shading around the edges of the ceiling. At first I thought it was a shadow, but then looked at pic 7 which shows a sharper line and also mould up in the top right corner. Notice the towel placed on the window sill in that picture. Must get soaked with condensation.

Terrible BER so when the heat in on, the condensation must be pretty bad, causing the mould. There may be a small leak in the roof, but I would imagine poor insulation and ventilation is the issue.

Usually mound forms due to a lack of proper ventilation

It’s possibly the coldest point in the room
So if the kettle is being boiled or pots going on the stove and the steam is not being ventilated properly the warm damp air will move to this point generally causin mound.

It happens similarly in bathrooms as people walk out of a the shower and leave a room full of steam behind them .

Proper working oven extractors, better bathroom fans and opening windows usually sorts this

If it was a leak the problem would cause the board to rot quickly

Amazing also how many people don’t use something like cif and a damp cloth every few weeks to remove dirt mound or grime in their homes
