Looking for pub band/gig recommendation in Dublin city centre

Not sure if this is the right place to post this (apologies if not) but I'm looking for recommendations for pubs in Dublin city centre that do live music at the weekend (not fee charging gigs though).
Got some friends coming from overseas and they want to see a kind of retro style band that would do classic cheesy/wedding band style old songs and then also a quiet, "Oirish" trad kind of session in a quieter pub environment.
Does anyone know of any bands/places like that that play on a regular basis? Friday/Saturday nights.
    Thanks a mill.

The Bowery in Rathmines. Was there last week and there was a funk band on. Very wedding. Theres usually a band on most nights there.

The Porterhouse usually have a live band on.

As do The Front Door on Dame St. Have seen 2 or 3 really good bands in here. https://www.facebook.com/frontdoordublin/

The Mezz in Temple Bar have a band nearly every night.

Oirish music. Cobblestone, Peader Kearneys, Brazen Head, Merry Ploughboy on the way up the mountains. Although personally I'd rather stand on a truck in the centre of Baghdad wrapped in a USA flag.
