Hi looking for advice remrct on rear bottom molar . Dentist says needs rct and looking for specialist who can do it . Expensive thought looking around just for the rct it’s in the 600 to 950 range and then crown possibly on top another 650 to 750 . And then they advise that with a 2step appraach where remove root and disinfect tooth is weak before finish on 2th visit to allow to heal and tooth could crack so could loose it before finish and fill and then crown to secure would this be correct helpmconfused in dublin

I don't see why is crown necessary. I had 3 rooth canals for molars whitout crowns and they are perfectly fine. Now I have a swolen teeth that needs root canal treatment, an this prices are horrible. 500e for a teeth?! In Croatia they are done for 80e. I also have porcelan crowns on my front teeth, 4 of them toghether cost me 1000e.
If you don't have urgent matter, I would seriously suggest you go to Croatia on vacation, a get your teeth done. It would cost you the same, but you get bonus vacation. And sunshine.
    Good luck :)

All back teeth with root canals should receive a crown, the data shows us that 70% of root treated back teeth (molars and premolars) crack and have to be extracted within 7 years if there is no crown (read cuspal coverage to be precise). Now you might get away with it, but thats the data from hundreds of thousands of teeth treated in the US from dental insurance data. This is true everywhere in the world even Croatia, which is a beautiful country. The idea of spending weeks in another country in order to save a few hundred euro is both economically and logically silly. (root canals mostly take a few visits some weeks apart)
