Xiaomi Mikey <<< Possible, Offline FM Radio with Bluetooth Devices!

Disclaimer: - Will depend on quality of radio chip, reception etc! And instructions below might vary by devices/FM App.

    Zapals: - https://www.zapals.com/genuine-xiaomi-mikey-anti-dust-plug-quick-shortcut-key-3-5mm-plug.html
    Aliexpress: - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-Xiaomi-Mikey-Mi-Key-Smart-Quick-Button-One-Click-Auxilary-Button-Gadget-Button-3-5mm/32334148021.html

App needed to make it work: - mSwitch >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lennox.keycut
^^^ The unlocker for the above app is only €0.50.

Test your phone and app to see if it is compatible.

You can test the above app and see if the MiKey would work on your device by using wired headphones with a button.

    Instructions

First connect a wired headset first to your phone and tune your stations.

    Plug in the MiKey.

To get the FM Radio working with the device, you need to says it is not the device inserted when prompted.

Open your FM Radio App and change sound output to speakers (instead of headphones).

Connect your bluetooth device and sound should now be playing through them. You may need to toggle the sound or restart the FM app to get sound playing on Bluetooth Device.

Instructions will probably vary on device, FM radio app etc. Play around with it and it should work. I know phones with audio jack and FM radio chip or getting rare, I know my next device will have them.

    Purchasing Information.

I got my MiKey from a zapals offer of only €0.53 (Thanks @Suckit), they may offer it again.

It took 12 weeks, 85 Days to be delivered.

I am aware of FM Radio apps that you can use online, i.e. Simple Radio.

Thought I would share as the option to play offline FM Radio pops up a few times in threads.

The Mikey app was deleted be Xiaomi a couple of years ago. I have a Mikey & a Xiaomi phone. I tried all the mikey apps in the play store & non work. Some features work for a while but then the apps stop.

I got it as a bargain, more to protect the socket.

The bonus, of enabling the FM radio without a wired headset. The reception can be crap at times, since no aerial. Use your body as the aerial improves things.

Button press only seem to work occasionally, and I already have my other hardware keys and fingerprint assigned to trigger common actions.

    mSwitch App seems to work.

But converting it to a system app, doesn't enable extra options, so paying for the unlocker is bit redundant. (I think the dev, use to provide a recovery flashable zip to make it a system app, but yet to source it.)

With GravityBox Actions, I can do some of advance options without needing them unlocked in the app. (i.e. Toggle Data/Wifi).

Haven't really put it to the test in the day I have it, as said already I have other hardware keys mapped to do my common actions.

mSwitch partially updated to support oreo!

Only able to choose long press options now.

Maybe the developer can patch it more for compatibility.

Still works to use FM Radio without wired headset, Bluetooth.

Even with a new phone, the MiKey is still in my backup phone and not my new device.
