Ireland mapping for Satnav on UK 2012 Mondeo

Hi folks, a friend's dad has a 2012 UK import. Apparently it only has UK mapping installed. I have not looked at it yet but is it possible that just UK mapping is installed of could it be just a setting selection to switch country? Assuming that only UK is installed, what options exist to install Irish mapping ?
