    Hi all,

A quick question for any of the professional photographers on here regarding public liability insurance.

We are lucky enough to have a family member who is also a wedding photographer, and will be shooting our wedding for us this year. Only problem is, is that she is based outside of the country and although she has PL insurance, it is not to the same value/coverage as what is being asked of it (€6.5m cover).

Does anyone know if it is possible to arrange PL insurance for short term, i.e. one-day? Or what the costs would be for such a policy – even an annual one?

    Thanks!

Can't help much but surely the best answer to this would be got by your photographer contacting their insurance/PL provider and asking to extend cover for that day?

If they won't, get in touch with www.camerainsurance.ie, they're a popular provider for Irish photographers. They cover €7m for PL.

Thanks, yeah I will get the photographer to arrange it alright. Just trying to find out some info that might help her out first!

    Thanks for the reply!

    Hi Rob

Camerainsurance.ie is me so feel free to give me a call or pm me and I'll help you any way I can.

The easiest and most cost effective way is for her to increase her existing liability coverage to €6.5m for the day or permanently. it is the easiest way to go. We can only offer cover for people that are based in Ireland.

If she is in the UK or has her policy there , there should be no issue in increasing her current level of cover.

Best of luck with the wedding.

    Derek.
