Hi all. We having booked our wedding for the first weekend of July next year in limerick but never anticipated we would have such difficulty getting a band to play. I’ve learned they book out very quickly. I’ve had about 15 not available replies. The bands that are available include Anchormen, The Unusual Suspects, The Significant Others. Can anybody recommend any of these??? The best bands seem to be gone.

We had the Trips for our wedding 4 weeks ago based on two friends’ recommendations. Loads of people said afterwards how amazing they were, dance floor was full all night! Hope you get sorted OP, I found booking the band one of the most stressful parts!

Free Beer are Limerick based & are excellent. Patrick Roche & band are another excellent wedding band.

I've seen The Unusual Suspects at an event and they were brilliant:) it was a few years ago though - they play occasionally in Smyths, maybe you could check and see if they have a gig coming up?

Ask your venue for bands they’ve worked with.

Find out, if you can, weddings where the guests thought the music was good. Don’t ask the couple - everyone always politely says ‘oh the food was lovely, the music was great’. Find out from guests, not the B&G.

Try weddings online, you can send a generic message to multiple bands to see are they available. All the bands get the message and if available they reply. Saves you ringing around.

you wouldn't go wrong with any of the bands you've mentioned though. Theyre all really good.

Is second this. I always tell the newlyweds that everything was great even when it was awful.
Sure everyone does that. Why would you hurt people ?

I had the same issue, started booking things and immediately realised that bands book out way quicker than other things but had most success with the above!
