Grants for donkeys.

    Hi there.

    I have a donkey and a donkey mix. Someone told me that there are grants available for keeping donkeys. Is this true?

    If there is a grant it would explain why so many people get donkeys just to neglect them.

    (not suggesting that you neglect your donkeys, op)

    They qualify as a livestock unit for minimum stocking rates on certain schemes. So unless you're already receiving payment which require a certain % of stock to acerage, then no, the simple answer is there aren't grants for donkeys.

    aonb can I just remind you that animal charities cannot be named or linked to in this forum. Please respect this rule. At the time it was put in place the options were no rescues or no forum.
