TILING

I'm currently redoing my two bathrooms. Tiler has finished main bathroom. I noticed yesterday that there are nicks in the chrome trim around the window sill and the alcove for my bottles. Any advice before I speak to him tomorrow?

I don't seem to have the option to add pictures to the thread (this is my first post on boards).

You won't be able to as you post count is so low. Put the photos on a web based photo share and add a link. Leave a few spaces in the link as you aren't able to add links either due to your post count.

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost for 2 bathrooms tiled? I'm looking at similar myself.

That seems a bit too complicated for me (not very Tec savy).
I had my bathrooms gutted. Originally there was no board put down on timber floor before tiling and waterproof slabs were not used. So I basically started from scratch. I bought new ware too. The labour was 6k but that included the plumber who had to move pipes. Space wise I had 60sq feet of tiles. Sorry I couldn't give a better idea but the two work together so don't have a breakdown.
Overall it's costing 11k so understandable I'm not happy about the trims. He was so meticulous about everything I can't understand this. He spent nearly a week tiling that one bathroom. He had to straighten walls etc.

Ideally I would like them replaced. I know, given how particular I am, that they will annoy me for ever more if they aren't. I just don't know if he will agree to that. I don't know how easy it is to take them out.

He will have to fix it so don't worry about pissing him off it's all part of the job

Just point it out to him/her and if it's as bad as you say, then they must replace it. Just say what you've said here, it'll do your head in if it's left that way!
Most tradespeople will address your concerns, they might not like it, but they will fix it. He/she may not have noticed how bad it is.

Don't be afraid to speak up, you are paying for it and you have to live with it.
Take a look at the rest of the work in case of other errors and point them out (if any) at the same time.
Make sure to say it before they start the next bathroom, it will then be in their mind to be more careful.
Most tilers are sound about rectifying errors as a huge amount of their work is through recommendations.

Chrome trims can be a nightmare as they can mark easily. Although because it seems to be marked in a few places it could be a low-quality trim. Have they been replaced?
