    Hi there,
I've trawled the internet for this and can't find any information on the matter. I have recently registered to vote in the south, however I assume you can't be registered to vote in the North too? Does anyone know I de-register or what I can do, or if this is ok? I was born in the North and lived there until I was 18 but I am now in college in the South and live between the two areas! Border confusion eh.

The Republic and NI have separate and independent electoral laws. If you are entitled to be registered under NI law, then you can register in NI. It makes no difference whether you are also entitled to be registerered, or are actually registered, in the Republic. And vice versa.

So, yes, you can be registered in both NI and the Republic, provided you qualify under the law of each jurisdiction. The usual way in which this arises is if you have a residence in each jurisdiction.
