I'm looking for cobble segments on strava alone and Im not seeing any. Are there any races that go over cobbles or even gravel sections in Ireland?

A young Dan Martin won a crit race on the cobbles of Temple Bar in 2010.

That was a great day out. The missus did the women's race earlier in the evening.

There are no races akin to PR this weekend. There are cobble streets in Ireland, I think Kilkenny have some for instance but they are nothing like the rocks in the pave this weekend.

A few laps of Little Ship Street, Great Ship Street and Digges lane will sort you out. The novelty will wear off pretty quickly.

You could cycle down to poolbeg lighthouse in Ringsend. That has a cobble surface.
Theirs two bonus points for ending up in the sea.

You would want to do it early before all the tourists go walking down to it.

A few years ago the Visit Nenagh Classic went up the cobbled driveway of Michael Ryan's (i.e. RyanAir) place. The stretch was about 1-2 km long if I remember correctly and the cobbles were in bad nick.

Loads of punctures/mechanicals, riders were giving out yards and they never went there again.

I think the race was actually on the same day as Paris Roubaix. Great sense of occasion (if you ask me) from Rene, the Dutch organizer of the race.

I go down there a fair bit and enjoy the walk to the lighthouse with the dog, wouldn't fancy cycling it, far too many holes and too many people during the day and it gets a little odd down there after dark

I'm not sure how good an idea it would be without support given the likelihood of punctures.

Maybe carry a puncture repair kit. Works for me (almost) every time:)

Pffft I wouldn't even class them as cobbles!

I just did the Paris-Roubaix Challenge today, and I'm also from Kilkenny ;)
