Huawei 2 Smart watch 4G simcard?

Hi folks i recently got a new Huawei 2 4g capable smartwatch. I was hoping it was possible to get a second simcard from Three with the same number and put it in the watch to use it as a standalone without the phone.

But I have been told by three this isn't possible that I will need to buy a seperate prepay SIM with a different number for the watch.

How are people using the 4g features on their smart watches ? Seems it's not really supported in Ireland and I am pretty much limited to only using the watch to when paired with phone via Bluetooth is this the norm.

Looking for any tips of how to best use the 4g aspect of the watch as a standalone

    It isn't.

If the apple watch had used a physical sim we might have seen companion sims here but as they didn't there's no real market. Cars are the other use case but car manufacturers get their own fleet plans so don't create an end user market for the networks. Maybe next year.

Would be a great thing if they did launch companion sims
