If you're buying a lot of them to cover the table, some Lego 'compatible' baseplates might be your best bet.

Smyths and Toymaster stock both Lego Classic and Lego Duplo baseplates but I think they stock the compatible ones as well.

Smyths now have the Mayka Tape as well which is pretty nice, it rolls out and sticks to any surface but is more for unusual building than making a 'Lego Table'; https://www.smythstoys.com/ie/en-ie/toys/lego-and-bricks/mayka-tape/c/SM06010746
