Image of doorway of empty premises on Liffey Street.

Substance abuse. Just saw a guy walk by with a can up each nostril. Never mind the litter which will sit there.

Imagine trying to run a business alongside this filth.

I haven't seen such a sight on my travels in any major city.

The local chamber of commerce will no doubt defend this, with the usual tripe that this is no worse than ....

Can only assume Dublin is the only such city you've ever visited so, lad...

It's pretty manky alright but I've seen far, far, far worse in many a major city - including Dublin. I would imagine most have.

Well Ive been to barcelona, madrid, rome, paris and london within the last few years and I have seen doorways that looked exactly like this

It looks bad, sure. But why not just talk about how we could fix this problem? Instead of just pushing this anti dublin agenda so many on boards try to do for some reason which I cant understand? Why couldnt you just point out the problem without saying dublin is ****ter than everywhere? It would make for a much more balanced discussion all around.

I've seen similar in both Prague and Lisbon.

I have also seen similar and worse on my travels.
It's sad to see it but hardly an outrage.

If you look closely at the window on the right , you can see an image of Our Lord .

Sorta like the image Jesus in the slice of toast.

The knee-jerk "fix" to the problem will be to blame the state that there are not enough bins when in reality the problem is largely cultural and up-bringing.

There's a guy I regularly see sniffing a can of gas in the city centre. One day another individual who looked like he consumed more "mainstream" substances enquired why the aforementioned was using gas. The reply: "I got a grant to switch over because the gas is supposed to be cheaper"

Despite his difficulties, his sense of humour was "gas" :D
