Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering what I should likely be charged to repair this issue?
I am being quoted about 650 euro (ex VAT) to do a full re skim of chimney including supporting mesh, does that sound about right?

I had a smaller crack in my chimney and ended up rebuilding the chimney. The blocks had crumbled away. But then u are into scaffolding
Get a chisel and bolster and knock the plaster off around the crack. See what the chimney looks like in the attic.
At the very least I'd put a new cap on it. Is the lead ok?

There is a small crack in the attic (I couldnt put my small finger in it or anything).
He said the lead etc was ok best option was to skim and put mesh on the whole thing....does that sound like a fair price?

That chimney might need to be strapped.

You need to get an engineer to design the proposed works.
