I have contacted Irish water a number of times.
Each time I have either been straight out lied to or ill informed when told the date that the check would be issued.
My most recent contact was made on the 12th of march (I had been told on the 12 of Feb. my check would be issued and should get in 10 working days) I was told by a woman on the phone Elaine I think that nobody’s check was issued in Feb .....
I asked if Irish water had tried to inform me or anyone else she said no I asked if they had put a notice on the web site she said no
She didn’t not understand why I got so annoyed she assured me that all of the checks that were meant to be processed in Feb would be issued in march it is now the 2nd of April.
My check is STILL NOT issued
This is an absolute joke I cant believe iv been waiting since December.
looking forward to here you response soon.

I can understand your anger, but it's important to remember, these type of decisions have been made at the higher levels of iw, and these individuals are virtually uncontactable to the general public, i.e. please be respectful to those from iw that you are in contact with, they are human afterall. Thank you

yes but when you request to speak to somebody higher and are told no.... then sorry you are going to have to lisen to me rent on as much as i want i do understand that person at the end of the phone didn't do anything, and have only expressed myself in a mannerly but direct way.

You realise that they probably aren't allowed to put you on to someone higher? When I was in a call center we couldn't. We could request a call back and you would get one in about 24 - 48 hours but that's the most we could do

The failure or even success of the traditional hierarchical structure, i.e. you won't be able to get in contact with those that have actually made these decisions, again, respect is key, it's important to remember, the individuals you do speak to, listen to these type of complaints everyday, they put up with a lot of abuse, that is not good for one's well being.

We're very sorry to hear you have had this experience and we are currently working to ensure all cheques are issued to the correct user as soon as possible.

We have a number of stringent checks to complete to ensure that all cheques are processed correctly and, unfortunately, this may have caused you a delay in the receipt of your cheque.

However, we can assure you that your cheque will be with you as soon as possible and we apologised for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead

I im in exactly the same situation. Still waiting since February for my cheque. They do not know absolutely anything in call center or here. I don't believe that nobody in this company cant say when these cheques will be issued. It cost me a lot of stress and nervous.

I'm in the same boat, was supposed to receive my cheque in early December, it never arrived, have since messaged IW about 10 times, each time I'm told they can't tell me when I will receive it but that I will receive it in due course. It's ridiculous.

Also, been repeatedly miss-informed about receipt of the water refund cheque!
First contact made before Christmas & every second week since to follow up on false promises.
The latest today is that cheque will be issued in a few days and could take a few weeks to arrive.
Exact same words heard before & before that is costing me time & expense which should also be addressed.

I pay my property tax on time… but, put the shoe on the other foot and delay payment over five months, give excuse after excuse, have my children answer the phone without access to me.
Then... “How much tolerance should I expect?”
