Help please re installing satellite TV in garage

Hi all, Im looking at connecting a dish to stand alone garage to get free to air Rte/BBC/itv channels if possible. Looking for advice on what I need..

I have an old sky box from previous multi room, can I use this for free to air - do I need sky to unlock this to use for free to air?

I can see dishes on adverts eg https://www.adverts.ie/satellite/60cm-satellite-dish-sky-freesat-perfect-for-seaside-location/4204064 would this work for me?

How easy would it be to position the dish?

That dish doesn't include an LNB, here's one in Power City with it included...

Also RTE isn't on satellite without a Sky subsciption, you will get it on an aerial instead.

That was quick, will my old sky box work with the power city dish (apart from Rte)?

Yes your old sky box will work to pick up the free to air channels

It's not too hard if there are other dishes nearby to get an idea where to point it

Enter your address to this site and select 28.2E astra as the satellite to see where to point the dish. There are loads of howto's on Youtube also.

...... but not the Saorview channels from the aerial.
In addition the Sky box is a bugger to use for FTA .... frustrating as heck!

Best get a cheap combo box which will do both Sat FTA and Saorview, and have one channel list with both on it.

They can be bought for as little as ~€60
