Tyre fitters damaging finish on alloy rims

It's happened twice, in two different tyre fitting outfits in Galway. Some damage to the finish on the front of the rims and small puncture marks on the back of the rims, maybe from one of the machines they used to fit/balance the wheels. The damage is relatively minor and in each case I didn't spot it until I got home and took a good look as the wheel was off the car.

For future reference, can anyone recommend a decent tyre fitters in Galway?

    +1 for Francis.

When I bought my car, some idiots in Dublin damaged the finish on the alloy. Blamed a bad paint job.... at the time I just dealt with it (although fcuked the dealer out of it for sending me there, so got some compo).

Mentioned it to Francis, he laughed. I've had 2 x full sets from him since... no damage to the alloys.

I always ask the question beforehand.

Can you fit this tyre without damaging the wheel?

Kieran Farrell tyres are who i normally use and they haven't damaged a wheel yet.

I know Francis for years and he is a sound fella but never used his service even though he is only down the road from me (Must do in future but haven't as i buy my tyres online)

Craughwell tyres once made a hames of a set of wheels i had on old ST back in 2012, luckily they were a temporary set i was dumping anyway, they managed to make a circular scratch on all 5 spokes on the front, i was dumbfounded and acted mad for afew minutes before telling the lad fitting the tyres that they were being dumped the following week.

He'll fit tyres you provide yourself. But I stopped buying online and started ordering direct through him as he always matched eiretyres prices. Also saves the bullsh1t of bringing the tyres out to him.

Thanks for the feedback. Mine are the original alloys on my 2015 Kia Sportage which are a PITA to try to touch up as the front of the wheel is a polished finish and the back of the wheel is a metallic grey which I have tried to mix some touch up paint to match. They were in perfect condition before the marks by the tyre fitters.

It's impossible to keep a car well in this country. Also have a couple of marks on the passenger door I need to get removed by PDR.
