Gate valve locked shut Query

    Hi P&H,

    The gate vale on my cold eater feed from the attic to the bathroom taps locked closed after several opening and closings. The handle still rotates both ways open and closed but doesn't affect the valve, weirdly it seems to open anti-clockwise. The handle does not spin endlessly so it does not appear that the spindle has snapped. The 'gate' may have become detached from the screw handle? If so can it be re-engaged somehow without removing the valve, which is boxed in and I want to minimise any damage - see attached photos. Thanks in advance. :)

    Is the spindle moving in and out as you turn the wheel?

    I just reread your post; is it a leaver type valve that you have, one that moves only through 90° for on or off?
