    Am I missing something here? Why would I buy this, when you can buy tv boxes that are twice as powerful for half the price? Or even a use a raspberry pi to do the same thing? 100 quid seems mental money.

    Something like this seems to better it in every way:

    Sorry, I just picked that one out of the air. I don't know much about that particular model. I have a Pi running OpenElec for my media.

    Just bought a second 4K TV for the kids and don’t want to shell out for another Shield.

    those mag boxes are specific for iptv, they have a very limited you tube app. You cant download any apps to the box. A smart tv or an amazon fire stick or what another posters link will do the same thing for iptv.

    The mag boxes are dedicated for the iptv, easy to use and setup, no downloading apps or anything just add the portal and your up, In my opinion they're up the top...
    But.. I got that 256w2 on donedeal.ie for 80 euro, it was genuine
