Firebird boiler

    Hi,
I recently got my Firebird (oil) burner serviced and she now constantly cutting out if the door is closed. The door has to be left open for it to work, if you closed it, the burner cuts out, tries to restart but cuts out. Once the door is left ajar, the burner works away fire, heats the rads etc.
Would anyone know if there is something I can do or would I be better off getting a service guy in?
Any help would be very appreciated

Leaking fumes. If this is indoor it could be running in a dangerous manner. Turn it off. If outside, wouldn’t be as bad. Get service guy back.

The boiler thankfully is an outside one. Wont be getting that guy back, he convinced the wife that the problem was because the boiler was an old one. But it was working perfectly before he arrived. I think we got caught with a cowboy.

With this boiler sometimes it hard to get a good seal on the door.I presume the service guy didnt fit a new door gasket. Also it can leak out the flange gasket. A flue gas analyser is used to check if all gaskets are sealed correctly

No idea if he fitted a new gasket/seal. Doesnt look like he did. All he said was the door should be left slightly ajar so the air can get in. It needs air to burn. Before it was serviced this was never an issue. Door was always closed.

most likely broke the door gasket when servicing it and didn't have a replacement

the boiler is now choking itself on its own products of combustion the only fix is to identify which gasket is leaking and replace

what area are you in maybe somebody on here can help you out
